And good art. And art that’s somewhere in between. The truth about making money as an artist is that getting started is terrifying, and sometimes the pressure to produce “good” art to sell is so stifling that we never try to sell anything. So go make something terrible and try to sell it, break the ice and step out of your comfort zone.

I guess I’ve always thought of them as the physical manifestations of the talismans that protect us, keep us safe from harm and appease the often angry gods. Symbols of our ancestors, portraits of those gone from this world, but locked firmly in our hearts, part of the very fabric of that we are made from. Tattoos are constant reminders, notes to self sent from centuries before in the wise words of a scribe, scholar or simple country girl dreaming of Mr. Right. Words mark the memory of the soul set free, numbers tell the time marked here on Earth, bound to the ground, not yet free to soar.

After recently painting roses with coffee, I just had to get back to watercolor…
Happy Thursday, friends! 💗

6 x 9 inch Watercolor Roses
A little more practice painting roses and keeping things loose. I’ve been using bigger round brushes lately and I think that helps.
I hope you are inspired to create art and do more of what you love.
Until next time, share a smile and shine on!
Happy Valentine’s Day! 💗

I am not a follower of the formal type of prayer found in churches, mosques and temples, unless the prayer be felt with the intention of pure trust, belief and faith. Not one word be left unfelt.
I prefer to believe in a living, breathing type of prayer that becomes a part of your essence – an embodying prayer – prayer that is weaved into your existence of being throughout every minute of the day. Prayer that helps you see the miracle of each breath.
The type of prayer that becomes the beat of your heart, the thoughts in your mind and the essence of your soul and takes over your life with trust. Prayer that keep your spirit aloft.
The type of prayer that is baked in trust. Trust in God, the Universe and a higher intelligence.

When we are stuck trying to make an important decision about something in our lives, we might occasionally ask the universe for a sign. As if there was no where left to go, we might find ourselves desperately throwing our head and hands up to the sky and find ourselves begging for the answers. Searching for a sign that confirms that everything is going to be okay. A sign that the choices we are making will lead to something better. A sign that what we are doing really does matter. These are signs for when we feel stuck.

We look for these sticky signs when we are banging on doors that won’t open or struggling way too much with little to show for it. And we’ll take anything as a sign at that point. A sign that tells us – yes keep going, you’ve go this, the best is…
